Entry Requirements:
- (a) Hold a diploma in dental technology, or equivalent;
(b) Possess minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience as a dental technician or in teaching dental technology; and
(c) Hold a minimum of two Advanced Certificates in Dental Technology (City & Guilds, London), or equivalent;
OR
(a) Hold a diploma in dental technology, or equivalent; and
(b) Possess minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience as a dental or in teaching dental technology;
OR
(a) Hold a diploma in dental technology pitched at Level 4 of the Qualification Framework in Hong Kong, or equivalent; and
(b) Possess minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience as a dental technician or in teaching dental technology;
OR
(a) Hold a degree in dental technology, or equivalent; and
(b) Possess minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience as a dental technician or in teaching dental technology;
AND - Attained Level 2/ Grade E or above in five subjects in HKDSE or HKCEE, including Chinese Language and English Language/ English Language (Syllabus B) in pre-2007 HKCEE, or equivalent;
AND - Computer Literacy
Major Duties:
- Undertaking the full range of duties relating to and associated with teaching of dental technology to students enrolled in dental technician training courses, such as
(a) to deliver lectures;
(b) to conduct demonstrations, instruct and supervise the student dental technicians in practical sections;
(c) to mark the course works of the students enrolled in dental technician training courses; and
(d) to prepare the teaching aids. - Assisting the Tutor in Dental Technology in managing the store of consumables and maintaining the equipment in proper conditions; and
- Any other duties as assigned by the supervisors.
Package: Five-day week, 18 days’ annual leave and medical/ dental benefits. Successful candidate will be offered appointment at the entry point, MPS Point 25 ($51,095) per month with a two-year contract which is renewable, subject to satisfactory performance. An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Hospital’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485), equals to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
