for (1) Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics, (2) Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery,
(3) Endodontology, (4) Cariology, (5) Prosthodontics, and (6) Periodontology & Implant Dentistry
Exclusively for (i) interns currently taking up Dental Internship Programme; and (ii) Training Support Dental Officers previously appointed
Job Requirements:
(a) Have full registration in Hong Kong under the Dentist Registration Ordinance (Cap. 156) [See Note (1)];
(b) Must be a permanent resident of HKSAR or possess a valid working visa;
(c) Possess a vaild practising certificate issued by the Dental Council of Hong Kong (DCHK);
(d) Secure a medical malpractice insurance;
(e) Possess a valid Licence for Use of Irradiating Apparatus on Human Body; and
(f) Have good communication skills.
Major Duties: Assisting the Faculty of Dentistry of The University of Hong Kong and the Hospital in promoting and delivery of dental care, through:
(a) Screening of teaching patients;
(b) Delivery of emergency dental care at the Oral Diagnosis Clinic;
(c) Supervision and assessment of clinical activities performed by student dental hygienists;
(d) Delivery of seminars to students of paradental courses;
(e) Participation in outreach activities;
(f) Delivery of dental treatments and services, patient care and oral health education in respective clinics;
(g) Provision of assistance in clinical supervision for the implementation of the Dental Internship Programme; and
(h) Undertaking more complex cases for BDS students, as assigned.
Notes:
(1) Candidates who are expected to meet the requirement within six months after the application may also apply.
(2) Applicants should indicate the order of preference on the Division for deployment on the Application Form.
(3) Successful candidates will usually be deployed to one particular Division only.
Package: 12-month fixed-term contract at $1,465 per a four-hour session. Allocation of sessions will be determined according to the operational needs up to a maximum of 10 sessions per week. Paid annual leave and statutory leave would be offered to those working 5 or more sessions per week.
