(a)   Holder of a Certificate of Admission to the Roll of Dental Hygienists, issued by the Hong Kong Dental Council or equivalent;

(b)   At least 5 years’ post-registration working experience as a dental hygienist or in related to teaching of dental hygiene;

(c)   Very good leadership, interpersonal and communication and presentation skills;

(d)   Willingness to participate in program/ curriculum development and continuous improvement;

(e)   Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese; and

(f)    PC literate.

(a)   Undertake the full range of duties relating to teaching of Student Dental Hygienists enrolled in Higher Diploma in Dental Hygiene course including-

i)  deliver lectures, seminars and Problem-based Learning tutorials

ii)   conduct demonstrations, instruct and supervise the students in practical sessions and provide coaching to students

iii)   set examination questions and mark the course work of the students

iv)   prepare the teaching aids

(b)  Assist in course promotion, student recruitment and recruitment selection; and

(c)  Assist in managing the store of consumables, teaching materials and maintaining the equipment in proper condition.

Five-day week, 18 days’ annual leave and medical/ dental benefits.  Successful candidates will be offered appointment at the entry point, MPS Point 20 ($45,660) per month with a two-year contract which is renewable, subject to satisfactory performance.  An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct.  The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Hospital’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485), equals to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
